DHL delivered a first within Formula 1®, transporting the iconic starting grid to Times Square for the World Premiere of F1 The Movie, starring Brad Pitt, on June 16. The incredible logistics feat included transporting 13 Formula 1 cars from 11 cities worldwide, travelling a total of 46,768 km to arrive to the Big Apple.
As Formula 1’s Official Logistics Partner for over 20 years, DHL used multimodal logistics to bring this unprecedented display to life, transforming Manhattan into a celebration of speed and cinema. Among the showstoppers: the APXGP car, driven by Brad Pitt’s character Sonny Hayes, which made a dramatic debut from a giant DHL box onto the red (or rather, silver) carpet.
Thus, the very center of New York City was transformed into the starting grid of a legendary racetrack, and DHL not only carried out an extremely complex and unprecedented delivery, but also gave guests invited to the premiere a glimpse behind the scenes of the races. The “Formula 1” movie (original title “F1: The Movie”) was released worldwide on June 27, 2025.
