Changes to DHL Express services in Canada

DHL Express regrets that after almost a year of discussion with Unifor's bargaining committee, which represents a significant number of operational staff and owner operator drivers serving our customers in Canada, there has not been sufficient progress to reach a new collective agreement. Additionally, the recent implementation of new legislation in Canada (Bill C-58) prevents DHL Express from activating any contingency measures to mitigate the impact of the labor action that the union has decided to take to support its negotiating position.
DHL Express will continue discussions with Unifor over a new collective agreement that provides fair compensation to our team members while ensuring a sustainable, long-term foundation for our operations in Canada and will allow us to resume the provision of the high quality of service our customers have come to expect of DHL.
The services of DHL’s other business units in Canada – DHL Global Forwarding and DHL Supply Chain – as well as the inbound delivery of shipments for DHL eCommerce and Post & Parcel Germany are not impacted by this change.
We will provide you with an update as soon as we have further relevant information on this topic. We apologize for any inconvenience that this causes for you and your operations and would like to take this opportunity to emphasize that we are doing everything we can to reactivate normal service to and from Canada as soon as possible.
