DHL Express and Sber to bring Russian export to the next level
DHL Express, the world leader in logistics and express delivery, and Sberbank, the largest bank in Russia and one of the leading international financial institutions, announced the start of the application phase for Russian exporters to take part in the joint award “Exporters. New Level”. Since 2019, the event has been helping to identify and support the best Russian export practices. Small and medium-sized exporters, both companies and sole entrepreneurs, are invited to participate.
The award will recognize winners in three categories – Export Example, Innovating Exporter of the Year, and E-Commerce Exporter of the Year, a special DHL Express category. When selecting the winners, the following factors are taken into account: export sales growth trend, export geography extension, strategy to promote products on foreign markets, export product innovation, and use of online channels in export sales.
The deadline for entries is March 5, 2021. They will be submitted via Bank of Business Partners, Sber’s platform for foreign trade activity participants, in the “Exporters. Next Level Award”.
“In 2020, cross-border e-commerce made a huge leap forward amid the pandemic. Lockdown and offline shopping restrictions led to changes in purchasing habits: today people are increasingly ordering online, and this concerns Russian online stores, too. The volume of Russian retail offerings exported via the DHL Express network has seen a several-fold increase. The number of active exporters has also increased dramatically. We are confident that the further evolution of the global e-commerce market, our active work with Russian entrepreneurs, the promotion of exports, and the amendments to the Tax Code of Russia regarding zero VAT for retail exports that have come into force will further benefit non-commodity exports from Russia”, says Anna Klinskova, Vice-President for Sales and Marketing, DHL Express Russia.
“A severe test for the entire global business community, the year 2020 forced stakeholders to abandon the usual tools while giving a powerful impetus to online tech. I admire our exporters who were able to adapt to the situation quickly and even managed to build up their exports rather than simply maintaining them at the same level. “The Exporters. Next Level” Award is an excellent platform to share foreign economic trade experience amid extraordinary conditions, both for beginners and experienced entrepreneurs, since no experience could have prepared you for closed borders and such a rapid transformation of markets and business models”, says Natalia Goloudina, Adviser to Deputy Chairman of the Executive Board, Sberbank.
The unveiling of the award results and the recognition of the “Exporters. Next Level” winners will take place online at the 5th annual conference “Foreign Economic Activity. The Power of Opportunities”, which is scheduled for March 18, 2021. The purpose of the conference is to unite foreign economic activity stakeholders and help promote domestic products in foreign markets. This year’s conference organizers and attendees will focus on expanding e-commerce and export opportunities in general. Experts and entrepreneurs will share their best practices of entering international markets and promoting business abroad amid the coronavirus crisis, and will also share their vision of a perfect system of support for Russian companies abroad and exchange opinions on the best way to finance foreign economic activity.
