How to Send a Shipment

DHL Express offers export services to almost any corner of the world for shipments to be delivered by a specific time or till the end of the next possible business day. When sending a shipment abroad, you may choose the standard DHL service for your package to be delivered by the end of the next possible business day as well as time definite express services for the shipment to be delivered by 9:00 a.m., 10:30 a.m. or 12:00 noon. Please be ready to provide the receiver’s post code to check the availability of time definite express services.

To ship a package you will have to state weight of the shipment. Your parcel may be very large in size while containing light items. The shipment will be charged according to its volumetric weight in case it exceeds the actual weight. The dimensional weight is calculated using the formula: length (cm) x width (cm) x height (cm) / 5000 = volumetric weight (kg).

A waybill must be completed for every shipment you send with DHL. It will ensure seamless movement of the shipment within DHL network. Each waybill has its individual number which can be used to track the shipment throughout the delivery process: from the moment DHL picks up the shipment till its actual delivery. When shipping abroad, a commercial invoice or proforma invoice also need to accompany the shipment as well as other documents depending on the shipment contents and value, and the destination country.
